Big Big Villa is a premium complex for the whole family. Located in Astana, near a residential area AKBULAK Riviera,
also developed by us earlier. By choosing such a location, the owners get all the benefits of urban amenities combined
with a sense of suburban life.

The main desire of the customer — to create a large house for relatives and guests — served as the basis for a functional program. So, on the territory of almost 2 hectares, 5 facilities were designed: an apartment building, a car showroom,
an indoor tennis court, a greenhouse and a gazebo.

The parameters of the facility were dictated by Kazakh tradition: all family members live in one big house. In houses of this type, it is impossible to do without help. Therefore, we have thought over the functional program in such a way
as to take into account the routes of both residents and staff.

Even before the start of the design, the customer had his own idea of the layout of the house. We designed 12 bedrooms, some of which are master bedrooms, and some are bedrooms with their own bathroom.
This solution ensures maximum comfort for residents.

The customer initially knew that he wanted to create an impressive, plastic volume of the house.
Consoles ranging from 6 to 9 meters have become fundamental elements in the development of the required image.

We have achieved sculptural quality thanks to concise solutions that work not only as a decoration,
but also have their own function. For example, they create a shadow on the terraces.

We selected a limited color palette: anthracite HPL panels, milky-white fiberglass and copper-colored
aluminum composite panels.

The latter material frames and accents the entrance group. It also highlights the «telescopic» volume
that crosses the entire third floor.

A gym is situated in the «telescopic» part of the house. Thanks to the non-standard structure with slopes,
the accent removal solution allows you to feel an immersive dive into the panorama of the city during sports.

In the area of the main living room, the heart of the house, a 7×3.2 m double-glazed window is used. This is the maximum possible size that the facade subsystem can withstand. Despite the harsh climate of Astana,
we managed to implement this solution.

In addition to actively lighting the living room with natural light, large-scale glazing also works well for landscape design.
The reflection of landscaping in glass harmoniously fits the object into the environment, replicating the nearby river.

We have designed several terraces. The first, the main one, is for meals and gatherings of the whole family in the non-hot season. The playground is oriented to the north for additional shading. The second one has a Japanese garden, which is accessed from the home office. The latter is located on the top floor and forms a place for a quiet rest.

The car showroom, indoor tennis court, greenhouse and gazebo are designed in a style matching to the main building.

All additional buildings are made on the basis of a metal frame.

In this project, architectural identity is entirely derived from the context, taking into account local traditions,
current trends and everyday life.

The Big Big Villa proves that modern conceptual architecture can be created even in harsh climates.
