The Almaty Business Park project includes the landscape development of five blocks of the business centre, as well as the creation of public space between the buildings and on their roofs.
The roofs of blocks A and B will be accessible to the public, while the other roofs will be closed and accessible only to employees of the respective blocks.
The client’s goal was to create a striking and memorable structure with unique features—one that would create a lasting association with the building and make it truly recognizable. We were tasked with creating alternative recreational areas on the rooftops so that employees
and visitors could go there at any time to relax, take a walk, or hold small meetings.
We created spaces for both large companies and for the opportunity to be alone with oneself.
The functional content of the roofs is similar: walking areas with benches, modular poufs, a canopy with a large table, bar stools and tables along the parapet, as well as large communal benches. Roofs not intended for general use are supplemented with tables for work.

Since roofs A and B are open to the public, they feature viewing platforms overlooking the central part of the complex, as well as relaxation areas with sun loungers, an apple orchard and a golf course.
The project uses free forms and spots that distort space and create a variety of scenarios for walking in a limited area. Semi-enclosed areas form recreation zones.
To create lush natural landscaping on the roofs and plant trees, tubs
and flower beds with retaining walls were designed. Most of the seating areas are built into the retaining walls, which are made of Corten steel. This material creates a pleasant accent and echoes the finishing material used on the business centre’s facades. Cone-shaped planters are also used for small trees.

The main entrance area is located on the first floor and features a fountain and an art installation with a map of Almaty made of paving stones.
It shows the location of the business centre in the city. A metal ribbon runs from the map to a small fountain across the entire complex, symbolising water, the flow of time, thoughts and ideas.
It is inscribed with great sayings of Kazakh poets and thinkers.
There is also a staircase with a terrace and a small Japanese courtyard for employees. The central part is occupied by an atrium overlooking the basement floor, where there is a navigation map of the business centre in the paving
and a fountain with a tree in the centre, symbolising the force of life.
The first and minus first levels are a transit area, which should not be overloaded.
Three types of green modules with benches are used here.
The main colours chosen for them are polished concrete and metal. Unlike Corten steel, these materials do not attract attention, but look calm and neutral.

Almaty Business Park is a multifunctional, non-standard landscaping solution for a business centre.
The facility harmoniously combines the dynamics of pedestrian traffic, active movement and informal places
for employees and guests of the centre to relax.
The entire space is filled with art objects that are important to Almaty residents, which are concisely integrated
into the functional programme. This technique helps to emphasise the local identity of users
and create unique architecture.
